Awards

The Kentucky Water & Wastewater Operators Association annually considers for issuance, awards to individuals and systems that are active members of KWWOA.  These state awards include:

Earl T. Mitchell Award (Water Operator) – Any person being nominated for this award must be a member of the KWWOA in good standing with ten years or more of professional involvement in the water industry, must have demonstrated a commitment to the improvement of the management and technical progression of operations, maintenance and/or water quality.

J.C. Chambers Award (Wastewater Operator) – Any person being nominated for this award must be a member of the KWWOA in good standing with ten years or more of professional involvement in the water industry, must have demonstrated a commitment to the improvement of the management and technical progression of operations, maintenance and/or water quality.

Eugene Nicholas Award – Any person being nominated for this award must be a member of the KWWOA in good standing with ten years or more of professional involvement in the water industry, must have demonstrated a commitment to the improvement of the management and technical progression of operations, maintenance and/or water quality, with the emphasis/involvement being on the advancement of water and/or wastewater operator education.

Eugene Nicholas Award Nomination Form

Outstanding Water or Wastewater System – Any system (Drinking Water Plant, Distribution System, Wastewater Plant (Municipal or Industrial) and Collection System) being nominated for this award must be a member in good standing with the Division of Water and KWWOA.  The facility must have at least a two (2) year operational record and must currently and continually be demonstrating a level of proficient operations in accordance with all regulatory standards, with no more than one (1) violation in the past twelve (12) months.  Past recipients are not eligible for consecutive awards but can be reconsidered after a one (1) year period. 

Outstanding Plant/System Award Nomination Form

Nominations must be submitted no later than December 1. Each Chapter will make their selections from the nominees submitted and the winners at the Chapter level from each category will then be considered for the KWWOA State Awards referenced above, to be presented at the Kentucky Water & Wastewater Operators’ Conference in the spring of the next year.
